This is the first issue of my newsletter – 30,000 Feet, and I’m really excited. This has been something I have wanted to do for a while, but I suffered from imposter syndrome and a fear of putting my opinions out there. Eventually I told myself “hey, you’ve worked in this industry for 8 years. You have seen and done a lot and have a perspective to share. So share it!”
Incredibly well written. A combination of unique style and informed view that breaks down complex topics into understandable and valuable reading. Great job — sharing with others!
Amazing macro view! Being able to communicate this is super important to getting mainstream adoption in crypto. So much of crypto is modeling on existing systems (as noted above, with internet principles). At the same the development of the ecosystem is mostly in reverse. David Graeber and others lay out exactly why money is a credit based system and for most of history the wealthy maintained ledgers to track their accounts. Then we got central banks and standard currencies. Crypto started with data standards for money, then developed credit and lending mechanisms. This history is difficult for newcomers but important and will only click with explanations like this.
